Friend Problem And Drama?

This is pretty long please read! Okay so i think in began in December. Lets call the girl that i was friends with Beth. Well, i was at the dance that my school puts up every month with my friends. My friend Beth since last year was telling me that a girl was being mean/rude to her. She was saying thing like " F**k Off". We were not even doing anything. The evil girl starts spreading rumors of my friends and me all around school. Beth and that mean girl are like a confused friendship first they are friends and then they are enemies. I always take Beth side when i hear both of the stories. So, Beth starts beginning friends with that "girl". They keep getting into fights. I got so sick of it i told Beth sorry but you have to pick i side it's either me or her. Beth chose the "girl" I was really sad and disappointed. Beth starts turning into that "girl". Beth starts spreading rumors about me and i did not do anything wrong i think. She said that i was a lesbian with my other Best Friend. I talked to the guidance and counselor i had a nervous breakdown. She said hat beth and that "girl" have a lot of problems. Later when i talking with my other friend in May or June. She said that Beth wants to be friends with you. I said that i want to her Beth say it to my face. I was going to say yes and forget everything. But, i looked back at all the things she did to me. Later to present time........ I was looking back at my phone and looked at my videos that i had of my beth on the field trip because we sat next to each other. I started to cry and think about all the good time that we had. The main thing i want to know if i did the right thing. If i should be friends wit her should i start in school and right a note and ask to be friends and apologize.
